LEADER / BOSS / WARRIOR

assertiveness

I know full well what I'm doing and I don't need to know what other people think about it

sincerity

I don't beat about the bush. The basis of effective communication is saying straight out what you think

leadership

I want to make sure that the projects / matters are seen through to the end. I am taking command to manage them properly.

strength

I do not recognise weakness. I am in control of myself and of what happens in my life.

emotiveness

Showing emotion is for the weak. Although I feel them strongly, I don't show it to anyone.

Figure-of-eight this is a type characterising people with a strong, influential personality. Strong personality traits combined with their presence mean that others see the Eight as a leader. The Eight herself also does not shy away from this role – and has the appropriate traits to fulfil it. She intuitively recognises the power dynamics prevailing in a given group or organisation. She immediately notices who really has influence and who only thinks they do.

Figure-of-eight She is not afraid of risk. She makes bold decisions instantly and acts in accordance with them. Being confident in her choices, she rarely takes the opinions of others into account, nor does she succumb to internal hesitation. For the Eight, it is important to take on the role of an authority figure and leader, and to have an influence on how a given situation, project, or organisation will develop. The Eight values results and efficiency rather than the process itself.

Inner strength Eights And the gravity she gives to everything she does means that the Eight does not allow others to get too close to her. She is afraid that in a close relationship she might allow herself a moment of weakness. Such exposure in turn carries the risk that she will be used by someone. The Eight effortlessly builds a thick wall around herself. It can be really difficult for others to break through this hard armour, reinforced by a sharp tongue, the ability to detect any falseness and what goes on beneath the masks that people wear every day. The Eight has a built-in radar for detecting any incompetence or weakness. Her disgust for them makes her isolate herself from others, becoming cynical and apathetic.

Autonomy and independence are more important for Eights, than for any other type. An Eight will always find a reason NOT to trust someone / something. Contrary to appearances, an Eight does not strive to control everything – although that is exactly how it looks from the outside. Their motivation is to protect themselves from being controlled by anyone / anything external. They do not want to feel surprised when the worst-case scenario unfolds. They refuse to pay out of their own pocket for someone else's mistakes. At all costs, they protect themselves against the possibility of being exploited by others. They categorically refuse to place themselves at the mercy of anyone other than themselves.

Figure-of-eight She is a resourceful, responsible and aggressive personality. She is like a she-wolf defending her pack. Protecting her loved ones from all the evil in this world is her unconditional reflex.

For Eights a key value is fairness. It is able to stand up for people who, for whatever reason, cannot defend themselves. It protects itself and others against abuse by individuals or institutions holding power and/or authority.

Figure-of-eight She is brutally honest. She handles ambiguity and unclear situations poorly. She is more likely to force the issue and provoke a conflict than to let any ambiguities remain. She is characterised by a black-and-white way of perceiving the world – it is divided exclusively into her friends or her enemies. There is nothing between “yes” and “no”. People are either with her or against her.

HEALTHY IDENTITY
95%

The Harmonised Eight is bold, and their heart remains open. They use their ability to lead and the strength to stand up for the vulnerable. A balanced Eight cares for others not by controlling them, but by giving them agency over themselves. They remain in the role of a mentor and cheerleader. A healthy Eight is characterised by high resilience, energy, and determination – both on a physical and psychological level. Whilst still not shying away from showing their strength and independence, an Eight in this state knows when to rein in their natural tendencies and show compassion to someone.

AVERAGE IDENTITY
65%

When in average condition, the Eight feels that it must remain strong and resolute – all the time. Hardened, sharp and energetic, it focuses on using its knowledge to take control of the situation and manage resources. It does not allow anyone to get in its way. It naturally inspires fearful respect in some people, and outright hostility and a desire to resist the Eight's despotism in others.

Identity Crisis
35%

Unbalanced, the Eight will resort to any means that allows it to achieve its goal – to regain a sense of control. It is willing to go to extremes, setting aside ethics and even the rule of law. In this state, their need for power and dominance over others leads to daring and reckless behaviour. An unhealthy Eight can be highly destructive and exhibit antisocial attitudes.

UNHEALTHY IDENTITY / STRESS / CHAOS

Disintegration
TOWARDS 5
In a state of disintegration, the Eight takes on the unhealthy traits of the Five. Its ability to make quick, bold decisions appears to be impaired. The Eight becomes overly cautious, restrained and sluggish. Its normal energy, ability to look to the future and push forward seem to be impaired. In this state, the Eight begins to collect information without making any practical use of it. It hoards its resources – spending time and energy sparingly. It becomes withdrawn, secretive, fearful, and sometimes even falls into various types of paranoia.

Integration
TOWARDS 2
In the state of integration, the Eight utilises the healthy traits of the Two. It becomes more trusting and generously bestows its attention, energy and time upon others. It is able to open up to certain people and allow itself emotional vulnerability. It bestows people with empathy and compassion. It is capable of forgiving those who have somehow disappointed it. The harmonised Eight focuses its strength and audacity not on protecting others, but on serving them and supporting them in their development.

Enneagram

The Enneagram is a system that organises both human potential, made up of its strengths and bright sides, and its deepest shadows, flaws and frustrations. It reveals how our identity is constructed and what stimuli bring out the best – but also the worst – in us. It allows for a deep understanding of which subconscious patterns drive our behaviours, influence our decisions and either facilitate or hinder the execution of everyday tasks.

The Enneagram reveals nine fundamental personality types. Each of them is guided in life by a different motivation, leans towards different things, and tries to stay away from different things.
